Windows Software Update
Services (WSUS) is an application provided by Microsoft to provide greater
control and efficiency when installing Windows (and other Microsoft
application) updates. It downloads the updates required to the server
ensuring that the updates are only transferred across your Internet
connection once (not once for every computer on your network). By
downloading them to the server in advance they can also be held until they
are tested to ensure that they don't cause issues on client computers.
