Installation and Configuration of Microsoft Exchange Mobile Services
You are probably already aware of mobile devices
(such as, Blackbery, Windows Mobile and iPhone) that allow you to send and
receive email whilst you are on the move. These devices in their standard
configuration are not ideal for business use.
We recommend that these devices are paired with
Microsoft Exchange. It is recommended because when using Exchange the
email stays on the server and when you work with the email (delete, read, send
messages etc.) you are actually working with the message directly on the server.
This means that if you delete a message from your phone then you are deleting it
from your computer at the office and your webmail. This also extends to
the other tasks that you may perform on the mobile device, such as adding
appointments to your calendar and adding contacts to your address book.
This can be very useful if someone else adds appointments to your diary or they
would like to know where your are going to be at any time. It can even
just be useful to yourself to come back to the same diary when you return to the
office.
