[+]How do I set an out of office message from
outside of the office? |
If you have already left the
office when you realise that you need to put an out of the office message on
then you can do so using webmail.
Login to your webmail in the
normal way (see "What is the link to access webmail from?" if you are unsure
how). Once logged in click the "Options" button (bottom left) then
select "I'm currently out of the office" and complete the message box.
Once complete click "Save and Close".

[+]How do I archive my email? / I am
receiving a message that my mailbox is over its size limit |
Archiving of email can only be
completed within Outlook (not Outlook Express or Outlook Web Access).
To do this open Outlook, click
file and Archive. We would then recommend that you choose the option
to "Archive this folder and all subfolders" and then highlight your mailbox
name (normally something like Mailbox - Jo Bloggs). Select the date of
which emails to archive. Browse to the folder where you would like to
save the archive (WE HIGHLY RECOMMEND THAT THIS BE TO A MEMORY STICK OR
EXTERNAL HARD DRIVE, as the default location is on your local computer which
is not usually backed up and often lost if Windows need to be reinstalled.
These archived emails will only
be available to you when the location that you saved them to is available on
the computer (for example: if you were to save the archive to one
computer and then roam to another computer the email would not be available
unless you had saved them to a memory stick and then taken the memory stick
to that computer.

[+]APNET have repaired or worked with
your computer and when it is returned your Antivirus has been replaced with
Avast and you are being asked to register, why? |
Often we are repairing computers
because they have been infected with Malware or a virus or because the user of
the computer considers it to be slow. We often find that it is necessary
to remove the existing Antivirus if we think that it may have been compromised
or we may feel that the existing Antivirus is slowing down the computer.
In many cases reinstalling the Antivirus can resolve the issue but we generally
find that most people do not have the original disc, installation files or
product key to reinstall the original Antivirus. In order to get the
computer back as quickly as possible, for non-commercial customers, we may
install Avast! Free Edition. You may ask how it can be free and of course
this is a legitimate question. This is the Avast! non-commercial product
they have other products and will at renewal dates try to encourage you to
upgrade to their other products. On occasion, of course, people will
purchase these and this helps keep the free product free.
You are simply required to
register the product within 30 days of installation and then once a year
thereafter. When you are prompted to register we suggest doing it
straight away to avoid forgetting. It takes just a couple of minutes
and only asks simple questions like your name. Remember if you don't
want to pay for an Antivirus product then please click Continue to use the
free edition when asked.
